After Shane returned to making music, he came back with the motivation to produce a new song…entirely by himself. He wanted to create the beat, write the song, engineer the session, perform the vocals, mix & master the whole thing. SS states that the beat was inspired by Lupe Fiasco’s “The Cool,” popular 90’s boom bap raps, Dr. Dre and classic A$AP Rocky tracks. His flow/raps were stimulated by the aforementioned, Shane’s own lifestyle, as well as The Jacka & Young Jeezy. “Gold Chain” displays Shugga’s creative abilities as a producer and an artist, as it blends music, flow and lyrics together perfectly. Every one from Crown Fam & ShuggaShane.com send our condolences to the family of Shaheed Akbar, aka “The Jacka.” The Bay area rapper, who’s career spanned over 3 decades, was murdered last week in his hometown of Oakland, CA. No motive or suspects have been named by Bay Area PD. All we know is that one of the REALEST RAPPERS to ever bless a mic is no longer with us. Reports indicate that Jacka was “rapping with friends outside when shots were fired from a passing vehicle.” A bullet to the head ended the Legend’s life abruptly. Jack was a very successful independent artist, first getting his start with the Mob Figaz group, then later an expansive solo career, he was also the CEO of his own record label (The Artist Records). A well respected and beloved man in the West Coast, he has touched countless lives, from fans to artists (indie & major), including our own, Shugga Shane, who posted the pic above with the statement below;
“Me & The Jack at the Key Club in Hollywood after a show in 2011/2012… Still can’t believe the news. Im in mourning right now…my condolences to the family of @jackamobfigaz !! We lost a real one today. One of the ILLEST to ever do it. A West Coast legend. Independent pioneer for west coast artists. I had the honor of meeting the dude who’s music got me thru some tough times in my life. He was real genuine, had the time to chop it up wit a young emcee such as myself and give me some motivation + game to keep moving forward. We’re going to miss you OG. MOB in Peace. #RIPJACKA #MobFigaz #thejackartist #RestInPower #LongLiveTheJacka“
